This was one of my least favorite albums for a while, but it’s grown on me, especially lately. I used to kind of dislike the sound–like the vocals are too muted or muddied or something. But I like it a lot now. It’s really interesting in terms of sound and the sociopolitical commentary is earnest, jaded, and cheeky all at once. Besides “Everything Counts” (obviously) and “Love, in Itself,” I especially love “Told You So” and “And Then…”
